Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. If you’re newly retired, or new to the area, or would like more meaning and community in your life, or are concerned about food security and food justice, or would just enjoy meeting people from all over Louisville that you might not get to meet otherwise, consider sharing a gift of self and time with medically vulnerable Louisville neighbors facing food insecurity.

"I love volunteering with Bringing Justice Home. I love that the neighbors get to have a say about what foods they would like. When I deliver the groceries to their homes, It gives me a great feeling that I am helping them and they no longer have to worry where their next meal may be coming from. I have truly met some of the nicest people and I so look forward to going back to their homes again and again. We bless them with food and I feel blessed after meeting them and talking to them. This has been a great way for me to spend some of my time in my retirement. A true chance for me to give back!!"

So, if you have a couple of extra hours a week and you love ground-floor opportunities with lots of room to grow, this is it. Our organization depends 100% on volunteers--there are no paid positions, even at the top. The time and energy you devote to serving our neighbors carries a much greater impact than volunteering with large organizations with large budgets. You will serve our medically vulnerable neighbors through:
