After six years of service, Bringing Justice Home is taking a strategic sabbatical from providing direct services, effective July 1, 2026. This page contains community resources that we hope you'll find helpful in meeting your immediate needs and charting a path to greater stability.
Whether you are a long-time neighbor of Bringing Justice Home, a caregiver, or someone navigating food and financial insecurity in Louisville for the first time, this page is designed for you. True, long-term stability is rarely solved by a single temporary fix. It requires a combination of immediate safety nets, community connection, and structural opportunities. Below, you will find practical tools and trusted local organizations equipped to help you evaluate your household budget, build sustainable income, and access targeted food security programs tailored to your specific circumstances.
True stability comes from balancing your budget—either by increasing your available income or reducing what you spend on fixed expenses. We recommend downloading this private planning tool to look at your monthly baseline.

Relying on emergency charity is a short-term patch, not a long-term solution for your life. These excellent local organizations are here to help you build skills, start a business, or increase your income:
Louisville Urban League: Offers free programs for career advancement, small business development, financial literacy courses, and preparation paths for homeownership.
Goodwill Industries of Kentucky: Provides skill-building programs, job placement services, and financial wellness courses to help you take the next step on a stable career path.
Senior Employment Programs: If you are an older adult looking for part-time, tailored work that matches your physical capabilities, ask the Urban League or Goodwill about specialized Senior Job paths.
While you are working on your long-term income goals, you can connect directly with Louisville's established food security infrastructures.
⚠️ Important Note on Food Program Data: Resources, hours, and program capacities change frequently. Please reach out to these organizations directly to verify their most up-to-date information before planning a visit.
📣 A Note on Community Advocacy: If you find that home delivery services are not currently available in your specific zip code, we encourage you to advocate for yourself and your neighbors. Contact the main Dare to Care access team and the specific pantries located in your zip code to voice the critical need for homebound delivery services in your area.

Using a Proxy (Having Someone Pick Up Food For You)
If you cannot physically visit a pantry, many locations allow you to designate a "Proxy"—a trusted friend, family member, or neighbor—to pick up food on your behalf.
What to prepare: Usually, your proxy will need to show the pantry staff your photo ID with your current address and a signed form confirming they have permission to collect your food box.
You can download and fill out this form. See screenshot below.
